SPARK Challenge 2023

My Journey from SPARK Project 22/23 Embarking on the journey of creating a solution that bridges the gap between technology and agriculture has been an incredibly enlightening experience for me and my team, as we participated in the "SPARK Project 22/23" competition organized by ENTC at the University of Moratuwa. Our team, known as the "Tech Hawks," emerged victorious by securing a spot in the top 10 with our innovative project aimed at revolutionizing farming practices through technology. Beyond the technical aspects of our endeavor, the competition offered a platform for the development of essential soft skills that have left an indelible mark on my personal and professional growth. Adaptability: Navigating Uncharted Territories The journey of developing our soil monitoring device introduced us to the concept of adaptability. As we encountered unforeseen challenges, ranging from technical glitches to design roadblocks, our ability to adapt became pivotal. Embraci...

Automated Plant Watering System

Abstract: The Automated Plant Watering System is designed to be used in home gardening to water plants  when the moisture level in the soil drops below a certain level. Our main objective for this project  is to provide a perfect solution for the problem that we identified, and the product that we  develop should be cost-effective, easily repairable, and durable. In order to realize the design,  we used software such as CircuitLab, Altium, and SolidWorks. The circuit simulation is checked  using the CircuitLab simulator. The PCB design is done using the Altium software, and the  enclosure is designed using SolidWorks software. Introduction: The Automated Plant Watering System is an innovative solution designed to provide efficient and reliable watering for plants. The system is a response to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka and the need to encourage people to cultivate their own food. Many people are unable to tend to their plants due to busy schedules, lea...
